MEGAN ARNOLD
Multidisciplinary Arts
Megan is a Filipinx-Canadian visual artist, musician, and performer working in a wide variety of disciplines. As a visual artist, she has exhibited throughout London and has had comics and illustration work published nationally. As a musician, she has performed across the country, including at festivals such as Sled Island (Calgary), Slut Island (Montreal), and Grickle Grass (London), as well as in Europe. Her solo project is minimal electronic bedroom pop, and she was nominated for a Jack Richardson London Music Award in 2018 in the electronic category. Her most recent foray into performance has taken the form of drag: she debuted her drag persona, Crybaby Kiki, this past March at the East Village Arts Collective’s Queer Variety Show.

She stages drag performances that bridge the gap between art and entertainment. Using familiar modes of queer entertainment such as lipsyncing and comedy in combination with thoughtful costumes and movements, she hopes to use drag as a way to queer the London public. Kiki is a genderfluid character, and her identity as a cis-femme person invites folks to acknowledge how the social construct of gender makes everybody a performer: all gender is drag.
London Arts Live is a pop-up art program funding professional artists like Megan to perform in unique venues.
